Part time and intermittent positions may vary.   About The Position   The Principal Investigator/Brain Trauma Research Scientist provides scientific expertise in the Brain Trauma Neuroprotection (BTN) branch to develop and transition knowledge and materiel solutions to improve survival and recovery from combat related neurologic injury, including mild, moderate, and severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) from various injury mechanisms across the spectrum of point-of-injury care, acute neurocritical care, long term recovery, chronic neurodegenerative sequela (e.g., CTE/Parkinson's), and spinal cord injury. Small and large animal models of injury include, Penetrating Ballistic-like Brain Injury (PBBI), Projectile Concussive Impact (PCI), fluid percussion brain injury, controlled cortical impact, and polytrauma, such as but not limited to hemorrhage, lung injury, soft tissue injury, bone injury. The BTN conducts all aspects of scientific research experiments according to individual reviewed protocols, communicate and correspond with lead investigator(s) regarding experimental procedures, study progress, concerns about the study, and changes in procedure on a regular and ongoing basis.

The Research Coordinator will assist with report generation and project close-out support.   About The Project   Photomedicine is collaborative research program to investigate how the medical use of certain wavelengths of light (blue light) may enhance performance, stimulate healing, modulate recovery, and improve health. This study, PM- 15 Evaluating the Technology and Assessing the Biological Effects of Commercially Available Photobiomodulation Devices, will capture the current application of commercially available photobiomodulation devices in military populations, and assess the biological effects of applying those devices in a general wellness manner.   Salary Range   $45,000 - $55,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Part time and intermittent positions may vary.   About The Position   The Research Assistant provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team coordinating research activities that may include recruiting research participants, data collection and management and other research activities as assigned.  The RA will assist with report generation and project close-out support.  The position is onsite at the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) in Fort Bragg, NC  and will require 16 hours per week (40% effort).   About The Project   This project takes the innovate method of advancing the science of sexual assault prevention for military service members by developing a comprehensive framework for addressing hazing, and its intersection with sexual victimization in general, and sexual victimization among men, more specifically. In this developmental research, we will adapt the evidence-based Hazing Prevention Framework (HPF), which is rooted in rigorous prevention science and theory, including the Social Ecological Model, the Community Readiness Model, and the Strategic Prevention Framework. The final product of this work will result in a culturally-adapted Hazing Prevention Framework for the Military (HPF-M), which addresses the etiology of hazing among Army service members, specifically focusing on hazing that occurs as sexual assault, and delineates a comprehensive framework for addressing this cross-cutting public health problem for servicemembers.   Salary Range   $36,900 - $40,000  Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Oversees and coordinates the provision of administrative and staff services to investigators; develops and maintains record keeping systems and procedures.   This is an on-site position assigned to the Tripler Army Medical Center on Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, HI. A thorough government background check will be required.    About The Project   This coordinating position will support a chronic pain clinical trial in collaboration with the University of Utah.  This project is a Stepped Care Management Project and will support an innovative trial designed to address the key issues of pain management and improving care for this population.    Salary Range   $60,000 - $72,000.
